Proton VPN
Free planA free VPN option without a monthly data allowance, with separate paid features and multi-device coverage.
Suited to One-device users who want an uncapped free plan
Facts checked November 5, 2026
Our assessment
A strong feature-based candidate for a no-cost, uncapped browsing VPN on one device, with a paid upgrade path for households or additional network features.
The free allowance is still a defined plan. Do not treat the absence of a monthly data cap as proof that every location, connection allowance or paid feature is included. Start by deciding whether ordinary use on one device meets the task you are trying to solve.
This is a documentation-based assessment checked on 5 November 2026. No hands-on speed, streaming or leak-test results are claimed. Review the linked sources for the intended device and the current purchase terms.

Look elsewhere when
